Where hadn't we been for a long time that was within easy reach of Plaistows, North Weald came the reply. The conditions weren't the best but it was decided that North Weald had on offer exactly what we were looking for, something to eat and a nice cup of coffee. North Weald is a lovely airfield right on the edge of the TMZ zone to the southwest of Stanstead. If you follow the M25 to the M11 roundabout, turn north keeping the M11 to your left and stay below 1500ft you can go straight in without a transponder or talking to Farnborough North but DO remember to PPR with North Weald first. There are a lot of exciting aircraft to see as North Weald still retains its military World War 2 look, well worth a visit. Holmbeck Farm is to the northwest of Luton Airport and close to Leighton Buzzard. It is outside the Restricted Zone that is being put in place for the Olympics in July and August.
