Sandown & Spamfield June 2008

Steve & Lesley flew into Freshwater Fruit Farm on the Friday to meet Brad. We had a lovely meal and a couple of drinks in the Red Lion before being joined by Saleem, Tina, Lucy, Natalie & Amy who had travelled by car. Saturday morning Steve, Lesley & Brad made the short hop to Sandown as the others made the way over in the car. We were shortly joined by Gavin and followed by the fixed wing contingent from the farm. After having a good look around the many aircraft, food was next on the agender. The evening began with an interesting presentation by Richard Meredith-Hardy after which we were left to our own devices. After a couple of drinks many retired to their tents but some carried on into the early hours as normal. Sunday saw the normal mass exodus starting at 06.00am so no chance of a lay in here. Following a lovely breakfast at the cafe Steve, Lesley & Gavin flew home to St. Albans just before midday. Saleem and the girls spent some time at White Cliff Bay before travelling back in the car. They promised better facilities and entertainment next year, lets hope they keep their word!!
