Popham May 2010
Saturday proved to be the best day to fly and make an appearance at Popham this year but unfortunately not for me. I had arranged to meet my wife Lesley, daughter Tina and her boyfriend Jason at the airfield. As we had decided to stay over and join in on the fun in the marquee Saturday evening, the only option for me was to drive as I had to be sure of getting home on Sunday. We camped as normal and the only real advantage of driving was a comfy air bed that was blown up with a pump and a couple of extra blankets to keep out the cold that would normally be to heavy to be carried on the flexwing. We spent the evening with the live band and a few beers in the marquee after which we crashed out for the night in our tent. We slept well considering the weather and arose to the now normal breakfast of hot doughnuts with a cup of coffee. Sunday as predicted was wet, cold and windy so we packed up and didn't hang around for long, sorry folks, we will see you at Spamfield if not before!!
