Popham May 2009
The sun shone on Popham this year, my sunburnt head and red face are testament to that. Remembered most things but yes I forgot the suntan cream and the hat. Saturday’s flight to Popham was quite nice with just a few lumps here and there. Thanks to Jasmine Banks for keeping me company and to her sister Natasha for keeping Gavin company for the trip down in their first ever flight in a flexwing. As the weather Saturday was surprisingly good there was a large turnout of aircraft who came to support this event. Apart from all the static displays, stands and stalls to look at, the manufacturers were up and down showing off their aircraft and the Gyrocopters were doing their normal rides. The catering was what we have come to expect with food and drink to suit every ones taste and the smell of those doughnuts. Saturday evening’s entertainment in the Marquee with the live band gave everybody a chance to let their hair down at the end of a long day. We all slept well and some had slept so well they didn’t know that we had some rain showers during the night. Sunday morning started cloudy, after a coffee and a doughnut breakfast the sun made an appearance but so did the wind. Lesley and I left for home late afternoon and had an interesting flight back to Plaistows to say the least. Thanks to Jeremy, Tina and Jason whom all drove down and carried most of the camping equipment etc for me. Please add your photos to these albums and that means ANYONE & EVERYONE as this website is dedicated to the passion of Microlighting as Jay would have wanted it!! Thanks again and I can’t wait for the next adventure see you there, Steve Greene.
